The founder
Dr. Neehal Mooruth
Dr. Neehal Mooruth is a Chemical Engineer, operations leader, consultant and educator with nearly two decades of experience across Africa, the United States and Canada. His career has focused on improving how businesses operate—making processes more efficient, reducing waste, controlling costs and building more sustainable operations.
His interest in how things work, and how they can be made to work better, led to a PhD in Chemical Engineering, with a focus on process engineering, biotechnology and sustainability. His experience includes supervising manufacturing operations, managing operations for Shell in Houston, leading process excellence for a food manufacturer in Vancouver, and consulting on engineering and operational improvement projects in South Africa.
Working across different industries and operating environments has reinforced a fundamental principle: the visible problem is rarely the root cause. Sustainable improvement begins with understanding the system behind the problem.
Neehal founded Kapi Consulting in Vancouver, B.C., to help businesses improve operational efficiency, optimise processes, reduce waste and build more sustainable operations. By combining operational expertise with data-driven decision-making, he helps organisations identify inefficiencies, reduce costs and create capacity for growth.
Neehal also teaches supply chain optimisation and project management to MBA students at University Canada West, bridging academic frameworks with practical, real-world experience.
